WEARING SHORTS : Laar--> You kinda lost me here. (Now I'm getting curious.) Does thismean that wearing shorts is not accepted because (a) it's just againstthe general social custom, or (b) because 99% of farangs have uglybodies? If the later is the case, most of them here in Californiashouldn't wear shorts either. Does this mean that it's OK for those ofus who are in good shape to wear shorts? WEARING SHORTS : I take the bus a lot, so while waiting, I usethe opportunity to people watch. I haverecently started wearing shorts in public,first time since about age 10. I always wouldbe very critical (silently of course) when Iwould see fat people wearing shorts. Mypeople watching has led me to someconclusions: * Anybody can look bad in the wrong style of shorts, or poorly fitting shorts * Anybody can look good in properly fitting shorts * Shorts that ride up in the inner thigh area look terrible * Any person in long pants and long sleeves looks uncomfortable when it's 90º * Anybody looks less out of place dressed the way everyone else does * One does not look any bigger in (well fitting) shorts than in pantsMost of these are the reasons I would neverwear shorts before. I started out slowly,wearing them only with family, then Iventured to the movies and dinner, and to theairport to see my brother & his family off. Ireally wanted to get to the point where I canwear them, because I am going to Disney Worldin 55 days, and I know I will be morecomfortable in shorts. As you can probablytell, this is a big deal for me.-Terri

We both thought it was wonderful to see these women so comfortablewith themselves. No one looked at them and no one even cared.
WEARING SHORTS : COP officers when riding bicycles are allowed to wear shorts. Theyare supposed to wear the standard COP uniform pants otherwise. Noother units are currently allowed to wear shorts.
