SURF SHORTS : From: ()Subject: Re: Alteration question Newsgroups: Date: 2000/06/24 It sounds like your daughter has a bit of a tummy (not unusual for the age!)which, with her smaller hips, makes it very difficult to fit without havingthat 'bulge' at the lower crotch. If she has not finished her growth spurt,I would be inclined to wait until she grows to do much sewing because in acouple of months her fit will be entirely different!I would suggest that you add a complete size or two (just copy the sizeincrements outwards) on all of your pattern pieces, everywhere there is anadjustment for size on your pattern. After sewing them together, you couldthen adjust them if needed....Wouldn't it be nice if patterns were made thatwere a little more true to life?I can empathise with you: my 10 year old has large hips and a tiny waist(and is tall for her age!) while my 12 year old is tiny all over except fora long nape to waist for her size! I make her clothes that are child size 7or 8 in width and size 12/14 in body length!CynthiaBaja bird wrote in message......my daughter...is going to be 13 next month and she has grown from an easyto fit kid into an hard to fit young teenager.Just like me, she doesn't come close to fitting a single pattern size. She is a 7/8 in the bust, a 15/16 in the waist and a 13/14 in thehips.....and she is petite.
SURF SHORTS : [ Yes, in honor of the surf-marauders' successful invasion of a.s.g, Ioffer an off topic post for our new territory ! Apologies, tho, I haveno content to add to the walnut cracking-motorhead-trophy wivesthread. ]----------------------Waimanalo Paddling RegataSunday, June 23Well, first off, Surff Ohio would have seen more 'bronze gods' than hecould ever imagine ... but ... then, this day was not about the guys... the women ruled. The outrigger canoe clubs were gathering atWaimanalo today - no belly button posers here; no reef girls; justplenty of strong shouldered women in team tank tops and surf shorts --striding with their muscled legs, laughing loud and broad from theirbellies. Solid women.I strolled up the beach just as the 'golden masters women' weresetting up to go out. The honeygold six-person koa canoes bobbed inthe rough shorebreak; beach people would flow toward them to steadyand turn them as the new crew hopped in. It was interesting to seethis team - these women - 60 and 70+ years old! Fiesty bunch. A groupof young women next to me had already done their turn; they wereboisterously talking and sharing stories -- beautiful ocean washedfaces, flowing hair tied back, young brown bodies in long baggy surfshorts. They cheered as the kupuna paddled out to the distantflag-buoy lineup. SURF SHORTS : When the canoe returned, everyone was waiting - people cheering, whistling, carrying leis to the team. The sweet, sweet scent ofpuakenikeni mixed with spicy maile. The paddlers were glowing, wet --and winded. Someone swam out to place hakus on their heads. Muchkissing and hugging ensued. There was a lot of hugging and snuggling all around all day; hard totell who won the matches - everyone was a winner. A wading dad heldhis toddler up to see inside the canoe, then nuzzled him up into theair. Kids and kupuna were rolling in the shorepound - grandparentsgently herding the little ones away from the canoes coming in. Askinny boy tried to balance on the ama (outrigger arm) while guys wereboarding. Skimboarders flew past the celebrants. Families loungedunder tents; teens gathered around the bands under the trees ... allover were plenty grinds. Mellow day in the country. The excitement of the day when one of the canoes huli'd (turned over)and the crew had to swim it in. Others swam out to help with the heavycraft and then when they got close to shore they all heaved the ama upinto the air to dump most of the water out. One man hoisted himselfinto the still swamped canoe and began bailing over his shoulder in aquick rhythm. Now I could understand those spirals of water flyingabove the racing canoes. SURF SHORTS : I think someone was keeping a tally somewhere - there was even a voiceover a loud speaker once in a while, but noone seemed to notice much.I chatted a bit with a woman on the Waimanalo team and she gave mesome tips about the teams (the keikis went first in the morning - someas young as six) and encouraged me to come see the practice at thebeach park down the road (almost every afternoon during paddlingseason). I might just do that.Great writing, but us guys want to read about desperation............................. ...................................and tits and ass.Hmmmm ... so YOU started the "ruptured clit" thread in asg? THUS ..artificially inflating their trade value???(note snipped cross post now that gymnasts are owners of ASG once more...)It wasn't part of the business plan, but it was an inspired move by one of the board members workingon his own...yep. The profits we made are all gone! We made piles of moneyout of the acquisition and re-sale, enough to catch theinterest of some venture people that we could get startedon Gillivan's Island without the net from the calendar. SURF SHORTS : Surff: bought a property in Florida to put up a surf resort, turned out to be a palmetto grove 10 miles inland...Foon: Got a tit job and his hair done so he could look like Willie NelsonSully: bought a beach condo for his new trophy wife, Missy.found out his key didn't work, and she doesn't answer the phone...Blake: Purchased home at corner of Great Highway and Lincolnwhere the surf cam was perched. Left camera up but mounteda photo of Lake Michigan in front of it.Lem: bought a Lear and a pilot to make a few runs to Costa,San Diego to see his girlfriend, and to mule some drugs intothe PNW. He also bought two cases of GL scotch. Pilotand plane were brought down by Columbian air force, pilot'snaming names, and the scotch was swiped from his truck whenhe stopped on the rez for gas.Sus, this was one of the most refreshing things I've read on here for a longwhile. The hell with "girl power," (which drives me crazy, btw) I'd ratherhave WOMAN power. :) Last time I paddled anything I just about killed myabs, those women are STRONG...
