SPORTS SHORTS : Making the shorts was simple, though positioning the "chamois" was abit of a pain. Used Green Pepper "Oregon Racers" No. 409 pattern gab I have two copies of it.Seattle Fabrics has a insert pad. I use a simple single layer of fleece. It seemed to work fine, butthen we all have gel saddles (or covers) on the tandems. Green Pepper's pattern looks pretty good, with a technical cut toit. J-A puts a coupon sheet in the Sunday paper's inserts, and italways seems to include a half-price off anything number.HTH --Karen M. fleece with ultra suede... no padded seat on my #24 mt bike. One hardly ever"sits' on the seat anyway, on single track.No padded seat on mine either...and I'm definitely using more than onelayer of fleece. I'm actually thinking about 3, to protect my saddle aswell as my butt (I have really sharp sit bones.)Seattle Fabrics has a molded foam replacement pad for $11. I"m going toorder one and check them out.I have used Green Pepper patterns since the early 80's and they are well cutand easy to use. They also have precut padding to sew in or you can buy itby the yard in bulk I believe. I just use the zig zag or stretch stitch onmy conventional machine to place it sewing from the top. It takes a bit ofgetting used to but easy enough once you've tried it a few times. Just haveto keep checking the fabric around it to make sure it lies flat.
SPORTS SHORTS : Well, TINY TOONS ain't going down the hole (I hope -- get out and write!),but today's episode should have, IMO. Eeeh. I didn't care for "Minister Golf" when it aired on THE PLUCKY DUCKSHOW, and I didn't care for it here. In fact, aside from "Going Up", I don'tlike any of the Baby Plucky shorts. Anyone want to start an in-depth analysis of why folks are so vehementlydivided on Baby Plucky shorts? I don't think there's anyone who's indifferentto BP; either you like him or you hate him. Probably one of the two or three good jokes in this episode. SPORTS SHORTSwas better than GRANDMA'S DEAD in that it at least tried to be funny. ProblemIMO was that the jokes weren't. I mean, "The Underwater World of Fifi"just dragged with some very aged aquatic puns. I dunno; I had a problem with Fifi playing the "sit on the boat while herconsorts feed her grapes" role. Seems more like something Monty would do, notFifi. She was better in THE HORROR OF SLUMBER PARTY MOUNTAIN, if you ask me.
