SHORTS WOMEN : I highly recommend the "Womyn's Wheel" for women's bicycling shorts. I currently have a pair of Terry Precision shorts. These shorts are GREAT. The padding is designed by women for women that is not only *comfortable* but also specially designed to "breathe" to prevent yeast infections. I also find the fabric breathes more than your usual black lycra heat magnet.They are somewhat pricey, (~$60), but *well* worth it. I'm buying another pair since I like them so much.Not only does the Womyn's Wheel have quality merchandise, but they are also *very* pleasant to do business with. They are knowledgeable about their products and will patiently explain differences in some of their merchandise.I looked in my LBS for women's shorts and have checked the variousmanufacturer's web sites and many other bike shop web sites. What I'mfinding, though, is that no one makes bike shorts for women larger thana size 8! Most of the sizing charts look something like this: waist 23"- Small; 24-25" - Medium; 25-26" - Large; 27" - XLarge. Well folks, my18-year-old size 8 daughter has a 28" waist. And we won't even discusshow much larger than that my 40-year-old waist is (although it's nearly4" smaller now than it was 2 months ago, thanks to the gym and the bikeand the swimming). I even looked at the sizing for men's shorts, andvery often the size ranges were 32" small, 33-34" medium, 34-35" large,and 36" XLarge. Still awfully small.
