NIKE SHORTS : I purchased a pair of Nike Dri fit shorts and did not notice the peculiar shape of the chamois. After the first ride I had saddle sores. After the second ride, it became obvious that something was wrong with the shorts. On investigation, the front of the chamois is narrow, and the edge rubs right where the leg meets the body. With the leg vigorously moving relative to the body, the edge of the chamois is a great irritation. Oh well, $100 down the drain.That's not money down the drain - some of it's gone to Michael Jordan.Nike pay him more than they pay their whole Asian workforce.You know, in a fit of madness, I decided to try a couple of Nike hockeysticks...big mistake. Overpriced, inferior quality and when I tried toreturn the sticks after using them for a few games and they wereself-destructing in my hands, they said they couldn't take them back to Nikebecause of "the nature of the game". These sticks had epoxy breaking out ofthe shaft while taking shots!! Anyway, long and the short is, I thinkthey're out of their depth on some of their ventures, but they expectmarketing and hype to make them rich. Suckered me in for $75. Back to myold trusty Muskoka sticks.

Well, a large part of their (Bauer and Nike) skateproduction has been moved from Quebec to Thailand and China and I don't knowwho's actually designing their skates anymore. And interestingly, theirskate prices have skyrocketed in the last few years. Bauer 4000's, top ofthe line 5 years ago, were priced around $299-$319. Now, Bauer 7000's costupwards of $550. I've used Bauer sticks before and been pretty happy,usually lasting a good part of the season. My last pair of regular Muskokasticks lasted a whole season.
