MENS BOXER SHORTS : I was just cruising the Internet and found this newsgroup. I sort of feel strange posting to this group, but here it goes. My girlfriend and I were shopping at the mall tonight, more specically JC Penney. We were looking for a new sports coat for me. Since we were in the men's department, she said I needed new underwear and socks. Now I hate shopping, especially for underwear and socks. She picked up a pair of silk boxers and said "you will love these" I said I think not! I then picked up a package of the trusty three pack of white cotton briefs and said this is what I am going to get. She then got a little more hostile and said these were boring. I said since when is underpants suppose to be exciting.She is still hissing mad - my question is - was this a stupid argument? Do other couple squabble over the guys underwear? MENS BOXER SHORTS : My personal preference is 100% cotten full-cut boxer shorts. The fullcut is tremendously important, "active cut" or "brief cut" aretoo short, they ride up and become uncomfortable.Perhaps the longer legs of the full cut make riding up impossible.The 100% cotten is really just a luxury, the shorts feel better and feel that way for more washings than even 60/40 cotton/polyesterblends.My usual attire includes "normal" fitting jeans (neither stretchedtight or loose and baggy).For what it's worth I find jockey shorts too confining, I just don'tfeel good wearing them.The great "boxer short debate" has become very topicalthis side of the Atlantic in recent years.Prior to the mid-1980s, the wearing of boxer shorts was aphenomenon confined mostly to the screen or stage.
