BOYS SHORTS : The wife knew nothing of it, of course, in fact I don't think she even suspected. There was one funny thing about it you see, that I suppose used to make her think it was all right and I was over it. It was that the little girls always had to be fully dressed with skirts and coats on. Sometimes if the weather was nice we'd be sitting out on the sands in dech-chairs, and perhaps some little girls in bathing- costumes or with those like little romper-pants on would come and start playing near us. Margaret would say, "Do you think we should go and sit somewhere else?" And I'd say, "No, why should we, we're all right here, nothing's worrying me." It was true: a half-naked child or one in a bathing suit had no effect on me at all, I wasn't the least bit interested, I wouldn't have looked twice at one. Always this thing of having to get my hands under their clothing, secretive, feeling what they'd got on, that was it.

BOYS SHORTS : I have to say I am all up for us boys to start wearing tights, or kneesocks, I have a couple of pairs and I love em, they look great with my newrocks, but sadly having a slight problem walking at the moment means my newrocks are gathering dust right now, but soon there be back out, and maybeI'll have the courage to wear a skirt with it to, who knows??Its scary I was talkin to a friend of mine just a few months ago, asking herthe same thing, granted it was far to cold to try it and its just nowstarting to get warm enough but its nice seeing such positive feed back onthe idea. I actually started with skirts before shorts withtights/stockings (incase anyone was wondering I am a male), but all myskirts are long, and so what I do have in the way of stockings (which isn'tmuch yet) never really got shown off so I was considering wearing them withshorts, at least untill I get some shorter skirts.I find what Tom said about when you realize the comfort of a skirt, and thenthigh highs so distracting so funny and yet so true. Forgot to include onething though which is the first time you shave or otherwise get rid of allthat hair, now that was really distracting. Then again I was rather hairyso it was a really big change and couldn't get over how smooth it all felt,and then with the tights/stockings over that.
BOYS SHORTS : But I think I definatly will try the shorts with tights, as well as try toget my hands on some shorter skirts.Tights that fit...dance shops? Guys do dance, ya know. :) Or steal broken-inpairs from girls you know (it's been known to happen). I think it can look really good, or really bad depending on theshorts. I would say stick to black shorts and then do whatever withthe tights. The only thing is, you say you're thinking about thisoption since it's getting warmer. I don't think tights (that arebasically pantyhose) would be cooler at all, so I would go with overthe knee socks, like someone else mentioned. Also, I have to imagine that pantyhose would be a real pain for a guyin the men's room!Actually, there is a solution to that, as well as getting a good fit. Theyhave tights for men now: In spite oftheir description as performance wear, they're actually regular opaque hoiserytights, but made to fit men, and with a fly! I know because I've been wearingthem myself under jeans, instead of long underwear. They also have athigh-high version.
BOYS SHORTS : Apparently boxer shorts are the lastest rage for some 4th graders. I once read that boxer shorts are unhealthy for young boys, but I can't remember why. Can someone enlighten me? To be on the safe side, we've asked my stepson to wear regular briefs under his shorts.The only thing I can think of is that boxer shorts can beuncomfortable for circumcised boys because sensitive parts of thecircumcised penis rub more in boxers than in briefs.My third grader received some for Christmas, and is crazy about them! I also know both of my nephews, ages 10 through 14 both wear them all the time. Please post the answer if there is some problem with young boys wearing boxers. I've seen injuriesfrom boys in boxers doing soccer and other sports.My son asked about these a couple of months ago. He's only 8 but I decidedto get him some. He complained at first that they were baggy under hisjeans but now that's all he wants. He said that some other kids make funof him in gym class but now other kids are wearing them. I don't seeanything wrong with kids wearing these as long as they are not wearingthem for sports.
