Bike shorts soak up water and feel like I imagine abig, wet diaper would. Tri shorts, like the DeSoto Tri-Shorts (justabout all I ever wear, and great for racing) have a quick dryingpadding that's not quite as thick as you'd want for a long trainingride but just perfect for a race. Speedo also makes a pair of unpaddedracing shorts, they're even shorter, but dry almost immediately. (andthe girls I race with call them my booty shorts)
