BLACK SHORTS : Why ca I only find Cycling shorts in black? Is it only because theymake Lycra in black? BLACK SHORTS : I think the whole point of the uniform requirements is to makeeveryone look like a team at one of the two championship series eventsthat the UPA puts on. I think uniform/number/short requirements aregreat because they make it more of a team sport. You know what teamsare playing in the game. You will probably have a program so if #52makes a great play, you can find out who that person.You are right though, most likely no one is going to come to talk toyou after the game, but when they are watching it, they do not have toidentify you by the number of blood stains on your shirt.The UPA puts a lot of work into making sure that nationals is well runevent for you. It is a small sacrifice to make to ask for the samecolor tees, numbers, and shorts. For what you the player gets out ofit, I think it is a spectacular deal.It may take away from some of the individuality of your tee shirt (sayan Anti-Michigan shirt), but can you make nationals as an individual? No. Last time I checked it was seven on seven and some subs atnationals.
BLACK SHORTS : I've had a few people metion they would like to see a different color for shorts other then black. What color could you rub chain grunge* on that wouldn't show it? Calm down, I am just kidding...While I still own the PINK shorts, I wear them only when all 5 pair ofblack shorts are dirty (never). I get enough attention without advertising my sex. I am disgusted with most clothing manufacturerswho insist on selling feminine colors and patterns. I prefer visible yellow, orange, and red instead of violet and teal....I guess I don't see wearing colors I like as advertising my sex (or mygender, either :-)). As for violet and teal being feminine... surelyyou weren't suggesting that! Alexander Julian wouldn't agree. (Andneither would I!) I really like seeing men wear something other thanblack, brown, and shades of dull blue. Why should women have all thecolor fun?
BLACK SHORTS : I *don't* like wearing yellow or orange and red is OK, but not afavorite. I choose colors based on whether or not I like 'em; notwhether or not I can wipe my hands on 'em after changing a tire. Butthen I carry CycleWipes for that. :-) Anyway, I want *more* interesting shorts to choose from. BLACK SHORTS : Performance sells shorts with colored side panels. They're availablein several different colors and a couple different kinds of crotchpanels, including a gel-filled pad which is very comfortable.Back in my slim days I had a couple of pairs of highly patterned shortsone blue with squigglys somthing like the specialized logo.They were light blue and very bright and with the pattern it was hardto notice much of any thing out of the ordinary once they got stainedand a bit brown where they contacted my seat.I would love to see and would buy a couple of pairs of shorts that hada design like the out side panel of my last pair of riding shorts. They are about 60% black with lots of dark colored dots about the sizeof the end of a pencil (the eraser end!)I'm not bold enough or is it fast enough to wear the bright coloredones any more but rich fine texture patterns would be great!Also I was sold a grey farmer john riding suit as a triathlon suitonce it got wet it was transparent. I did not tri it out before doinga 1/2 iron man! running up the beach was an experience but I was notgoing to drop I paid $60 for the event and my boss was ,and did, payme back after I finished.
