BIB SHORTS : +--------------------------------------- ----------------------------++---------- ---------------------------------------- -----------------+Not exactly - c'mon Steve! I have a nice pair of Garneau bibs. And yes, i do sweat a ton. More than 90% of guys I know.I good as minimal sqr inches of material over meas I can.I wear $5 over the shoulder suspenders to keep my shorts up. Works fineand is cooler than bib shorts, plus it is adjustable....don't mentionthe X still on my back from a careless sunburn in '90!Philip-- Philip Pilgrim The Lab Audio Works5 Evan's Drive - Analog/Digital Recording/ProcessingHammonds Plains - Computer/Synth InterfacingNova Scotia, Canada - Hardware/Software DevelopmentB4B 1M8 Phone +1.902.835.7844Email Web Page: Different strokes, eh? I wear mine in typical south Texas 90/90weather. Especially at the beginning ofthe season when I have that little extra 'doughnut' around my midsection. The waist band on regular shorts rolls up around my 'waste'until I have a few hundred miles on me.I really don't notice them being any hotter during the summer monthseither. I'm 5'10" and 175 during the season and 'float up to about 182during the off season (I'm also 6' tall in the off season so that makesup for the weight increase. :-)
BIB SHORTS : Obviously you have never worn bib shorts. You just pull them down in thefront and the stretch the fabric down to allow easy urination.Of course, you can take your pants off to urinate if you really want toJobst.---------------------------------------- ---------------------------------- Bob Masse' I If you can't dazzle them with I *remove nospam to reply* I brilliance I -------------------------------- I Then baffle them with bullshit I ------------------------------------- wrote in message...Bib shorts can be "great" unless you have a long torso -- If you do, yourbib shorts may give you a perpetual snuggy (depending on the brand ofshort). I rode for a team sponsored by Aussi and wore their bibs for acouple of years -- nice stuff, but too short in the bibs. I had to sew in"inserts" in the straps. I later rode for a team sponsored in part by thenow defunct Blix -- plenty long, great shorts; I wore them out and miss 'em.Moral of the story -- try before you buy. Be prepared for theinconveniences discussed in the other posts. I like bibs because they stayup and don't have elastic waist bands that roll or wear out. -- Jay Beattie. BIB SHORTS : Subject: Bib Shorts QuestionFrom: (RobertG1)Date: 1/13/00 10:27 PM Eastern Standard TimeMessage-id: Can you all tell me how you wear your bib shorts? What I mean is do you wearyour jerseys over top of the shoulder straps or do you wear the shoulder strapsover top of your jerseys. I have been wearing my bib shorts with shoulderstraps on the outside of my jerseys. I have received comments from someriders, in my local cycle club, that they had not seen anyone wear bibs on theoutside of their jersey before!? I know I have seen models in cycling catalogswear bib straps over top of jerseys. I believe the straps help hold the jerseycloser to the body. Also, I think the look of the bib straps outside thejersey looks pretty cool. And, of course, a roadie must look COOL at alltimes! :o)....Please shower me with your thoughts.....and thanks....RobertRobert M. GoodenFrom: ()Subject: Re: Bib Shorts Question Newsgroups: Date: 2000/01/14 Most of the year I wear Bibs. I wear them outside the jersey. It is muchmore comfortable and people tell me I look like wrestler... cool. Geeze.I wear my bib shorts under my jersey, where they belong. If jerseyswere meant to be under the bibs, they wouldn't have pretty pitchers on'em! BIB SHORTS : Subject: Bib Shorts....a "Fred"?From: (RobertG1)Date: Tue, 25 January 2000 11:19 PM ESTMessage-id: Yes, I was the original cyclist who posted here saying I wore my bib shorts onthe outside of my jerseys and wondering if I was alone in doing this. Somereplied back nicely offering their experience and advice. Others were not sonice, throwing out names such as "fred"! Well, I don't want to appear to be a"fred" but maybe I do. I show up for club rides in my bibs over jersey look, driving my shiny SUV! I have the means to have a nice bike and all theaccessories that go along with the sport! I ride only for recreation andexercise. Most of the club members show up in little hatchbacks and have topiece their bikes together before they can ride. Others ride from workstraight to the start of the club ride. I, on the other hand, live about ahalf hour away, and throw my bike in the back of my SUV, and end up with anhour round trip in the SUV for a 2-3 hour club ride! So, call me what youwill. But I am out there!......putting in the miles and trying to be a good"ambassador for the sport. I obey all traffic laws, always wear a geeky,"fred"...Giro helmet (yeah go ahead and start your STUPID threads about thatnow!) and love my time on the bike. After being 300 lbs for the majority of myadult life, for the last 5 years, through cycling, I have stayed right around175 lbs! I have finally found a fun, challenging, healthy, and rewardingactivity to keep my sanity in the crazy world.....CYCLING!
